Don’t Allow IRRELEVANT Things To Consume Your Time!!

A few days ago, I was scrolling on Facebook and stumbled across this amazing post!! I instantly shared it on my timeline because it hit home for me so I thought I’d share it with you guys too! There’s sooo much truth to all 32 of those words she mentioned in this post that it’s not even funny! It’s pretty self explanatory actually.
Be very selective about who and what you invest your time in. If you’re gonna surround yourself with people, surround yourself with people who get it. Surround yourself with people who get you and push you to work harder than you did the day before. Surround yourself with people who have ambitious plans, meaningful purposes, and big goals. Get around some people that actually talk about visions and ideas, not other people. Surrounding yourself with positive upbeat people that want to be just as successful as you really makes a difference in your life and where you’re trying to go in life.
I’ve learned that here lately myself! So if you’re still working on it, don’t feel bad! For me, it wasn’t so much that I wasn’t surrounding myself with the right people; I was just giving too much of my time and energy to the wrong ones. It’s not that they’re bad people either! In fact, they’re really cool. Our hunger for success just wasn’t the same. The focus is different because the dream is bigger so it’s hard to vibe but I’ve decided that in this season I was going to work more on distancing myself from “now and later” people. Talk about it now but still doing the same things later.. Ain’t nobody got time for that !!
Just like the post above says, “If it’s not provoking forward movement, then it’s time to stop investing!” Don’t let irrelevant things and people throw you off and have you distracted. Tatiana Jermone said it best:
“When you are upset, you are being distracted. When you are bothered, you are being distracted. When you are confused you are being distracted. When you are amused, you are being distracted. You can chuckle, smile, cry, and laugh along the way but be careful that what you are reacting to is not distracting you. Stay focused on your purpose and reach your goals by any means!”
So remember friends.. be wise about where and what you invest your time in. Wasted time is so much worse than wasted money!! ⌚❀

  1. Love this! Its all about the energy you allow yourself to consume. Its a learning process not to let things get under your skin. I literally stop, get quiet, and walk away. I remember I don’t have to be anywhere I don’t want to be. God is my director, no body else.

  2. And the church said? AMEN!! TELL IT!!
I have gotten to the point that you will not interrupt my place of peace. My peace is a part of my accomplishments, it’s how I build, grow and achieve. If you’re not for the movement, then you need to move on.πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰βœŒ

  3. Yup. I do agree with you on this. But might I suggest a possible flaw?
I personally believe that if one just retains their focus on their own self and forgets everyone else, he/she is going to regret it in the long run. The point is that we should be a bit self centered, but not so much so that we forget the value of others. Sometimes, it’s really necessary for you to set aside your own priorities and goals and focus on someone in need. Even if that means draining your own time and energy. That’s a part of being human.
Also I really don’t think that one should try to achieve their goals by ‘whichever means possible’. After all isn’t that rather dystopian?

    • Actually , you made a very good point in your comment. It’s definitely not good to be self centered nor am I encouraging the idea of it so if that’s what you got from it, I do apologize! 😊 Outside of my blog, I deal with alot of people who suffer from depression, anxiety and self esteem issues therefore it just works for me to encourage self love and self care as often as I can !! 😊 Sorry, you got the wrong message from it!! Enjoy the rest of your night.

      • Oh no! You definitely don’t need to apologize! πŸ™‚ You are right, of course in saying that one has to be wise when it comes to using their most precious commodity i.e. time. Personally, I always believe that anything in excess is bad and hence one should always aim at an equilibrium. And not a 100% of anything. ‘cuz EVERYTHING in this world has two sides. Maybe you could just add a paragraph in the end emphasising just that….

I really admire your work! Dealing with psychiatric issues is indeed a herculean task and I always respect the people who do it, for its definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.

Happy blogging! (BTW, it’s 10:30 AM here. So I’m pretty much up and about) πŸ™‚ Enjoy your Sunday! (And Saturday night, if there’s any of it left!)
