In Honor of April being Stress Awareness Month, I thought it would be a good time to share some of my most F A V O R I T E and quickest ways to reduce stress πŸ’™

The internet is an unsafe place for the heart. Please know when to log off. Find you some people to spend quality time with. Many of your deliverances will come on several levels from several issues, when you stop scrolling so much..

Thinking about someone else and giving back to them is a great way to make a little impact in their life, but also amazing for relieving stress!! Sometimes, your biggest test is in how you treat other people while you’re fighting your own personal battles and sometimes.. your breakthrough is depending on your {o b e d i e n c e} of being a blessing to the next person!!

This one is almost cliche but exercising reallyΒ does help relieve stress!! I don’t know what it is about going to the gym, walking the trail at the park, doing zumba, doing an “insanity” workout video or yoga that gets people’s stressful circumstances off their mind but it works; gets the job done every single time!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to express myself through writing! Usually when I’m stressed, the emotion of anger is not too far from me.. if it’s not already there and to be able to put my thoughts on paper somewhat frees my mind in its own little way. Sometimes I’m venting through my writing and sometimes I’m just writing out plans and what my next move will be! Writing is like therapy. For me, writing is such a strong form of therapy that when I’m done I no longer feel the need to verbally vent to anyone.. unless it’s my Husband because I will absolutely talk his head off. But seriously, writing is an excellent way to relieve stress. I would sayΒ journaling but I don’t want you to take it too serious and think it’s necessary for you to actually have a journal. You can grab a raggedy notebook and write your heart away in it! You just need something that you can use to get all of that anger and stress out on.Β

Okay, this is something else that I do not only when I’m stressed but when I’m pissed too! For one thing, I’m not a neat freak. I’m kind of far off from it actually. I don’t clean as often as I should. I’m not nasty, but I’m not like “OCD” either. (obsessive-compulsive disorder) I’m not gonna freak out if there’s four dishes sitting in the sink. I’ll add like seven more of ’em before I start loading the dishwasher. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ My house stays clean enough to where if somebody decided to surprise me with an unannounced visit.. it’s decent enough!! The only thing they might see is a load of clean laundry chilling in the recliner πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Anyways, cleaning helps somewhat relieve my stress. I honestly don’t know how. I guess the fact that it keeps me busy, keeps me distracted from going into stress overload! By the time I’m done cleaning.. just about every room in my house is spotless, the laundry is completely done and when it’s all said and done.. I’m just tired. I am literally ready for a shower and my bed. That’s it. Whatever was bothering me at that moment doesn’t bother me anymore until the next day because I’ll be too tired to put any energy into even thinking about it! So yeah.. when you’re feeling stressed, do some cleaning! I promise there’s a healing in it! It’s a weird one but it’s there!

There are several ways to reduce stress but again these are my top 5 favorites! What are some things you to do reduce your own personal stress?

  2. I didn’t know that other people clean when their stressed out too! I always feel like cleaning something gives me back a little control, no matter what I’m going through I can at least have a clean bathroom or closet..etc. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™Thank you for writing this! It’s something I need to work on currently… 😊

  3. You know what, your top 5 favorite stress reliever is the same as mine. Haha. I remember, I was burnout last 2017 and then I decided to get off my social medias account and from there, I feel at ease and somewhat relax and far from all the negative this world could give. Share! Haha πŸ˜€ Great job!

  4. I can’t tell you how may social media β€œdetoxes” I’ve had, it’s so important to step away from that as much as possible sometimes, something I do to relive stress is to listen to music and sing, it probably sounds awful but I can never sing and feel sad or stressed afterπŸ˜‚πŸ’›

    • I’ve never actually detoxed before lol but I’m sure there are many benefits in it! I just cant bring myself to be away from social media for a whole month or two lol and that’s sad that I even had to say that! I just get it on it when I’m bored but when I’m stressed to the max.. I step away from it for a few hrs and sometimes a whole day! Sometimes I step away from it to focus on more important things too like my blog πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ & hey listening to music is an awesome stress reliever!! I forgot about that one lol me and my music can never be separated, esp gospel! ❀
I cant sing either but that doesnt mean I wont tryπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ esp in the shower!! Haha

  5. Love #1!!! I went off Facebook back in October and it was sooo good for me! Since then I have made stronger connections with people in real life and had so much more spare time. Plus the drama in my life has gone down! Totally Less stressed!!!

  6. Great tips!! #1 is so true bc everyone fighting and spouting off their opinions can cloud your mind w/ negativity. #3 works great for me also–when I’m at the gym, I’m basically forced not to think about anything but the workout.

  7. Love the list! And lol I get what you mean about cleaning. If I’m frustrated, stressed, overwhelmed and so on, the minute I clean I feel so much better! Honestly think it has to do with creation roles, since as women we are more domestic. At least that’s what I tell myself anyway πŸ˜…

  8. Great list! If I’m super stressed to the point of frustration and tears, I’ll go for a walk. Other times I just get alone in a quiet place pray, read my Bible, close my eyes and picture a peaceful scene. If I listen to music, it has to be music I’ve already listened to before, not something new. I remember once getting in my car and popping in a heaven bluegrass CD, and it cheered me up so much it actually made me laugh! 😁

  10. I clean… a lot.
I also vent on paper, password protect it and forget about it.
When I go back much later, I have forgotten the password and by then it does not matter.
    Beats going for therapy!
