15 Ways I’m Trying to Become a Better Person.

My life is under constant construction. There’s always something to improve. Becoming a better version of myself one day at a time!ย  I just wanted to share with you guys some of the things I’m personally working on now for myself..

  1. Practicing forgiveness daily.
  2. Working on letting go of anger from past hurts that I’m still trying to heal from.
  3. Trying to keep a consistent prayer life.
  4. Committing myself to growth.
  5. Continuously walking away from any and everything that doesn’t give me good vibes.
  6. Loving {.M Y S E L F.} more!
  7. TRYING to keep procrastination to a minimum. (The struggle is real with this one!)
  8. Keeping my peace protected.ย
  9. Constantly looking for the good in EVERY situation instead of focusing in on the negative part of it. Yes, I’m very encouraging but sometimes I discouraged too.
  10. Trying to get and stay better organized!
  11. ย Working on being more merciful.ย
  12. Working on my patience! It gets a workout quite often.๐Ÿ™„
  13. Working onย persistence.
  14. Trying to keep in the back of my mind that not everything needs a reaction nor does it always need a response. This is something that I have to remind myself of everyday because people will try to do things and push your buttons out of spite. Sometimes it’s hard but it’s a beautiful thing to stay silent when someone expects you to be enraged. The power is always in your reply!
  15. Just trying to be a better human than I was yesterday and the day before that.

What are you doing to become a better person? Are you doing anything at all? If not, I will tell you this.. Personal Growth is ADDICTIVE. You should spend time doing that. It’ll make you feel better as person and to be honest, I feel like it’s also an act of self-care. “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” -Paulo Coelho.๐Ÿ’•

  1. Have you ever watched this TED talk about procrastination? https://ted.com/talks/tim_urban_inside_the_mind_of_a_master_procrastinator?utm_source=sms&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=tedspread
    Itโ€™ll definitely make you giggle.

Self development is so important so Iโ€™m always trying to improve something about myself. My biggest focus at the moment is becoming a better listener a I can communicate with others stronger. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. I do not have a very long list but I am working at:
    1) No longer yelling when angry/annoyed with T. Talking works so much better and he hears and learns what I need him too.
    2) Being happy with myself.
    3) Staying in the here and now
    4) Seeing the positive in things before the negative.
    5) Realizing that it is okay to let toxic people go.

    • Hey I’m with you in your #5 !! Sometimes, toxic people will try to make you feel guilty for letting them go or loving them from a distance but for the sake of my self-peace & health, its necessary. Thanks for sharing!!๐Ÿ˜˜ That’s a great list.

  3. Nice long list!

I also have a long list, but Iโ€™ll share just a few things I do everyday…
    1. I read a book โ€” [mind]
    2. I reflect about my life โ€” [spirit]
    3. I plan for the next day โ€” [mind]
    4. I write a few sentences (I normally finish one blog post in not less than 3 days) โ€” [mind]
    5. I practice emotional awareness (I check my emotion a few times in an hour) โ€” [heart]
    6. I exercise (push ups) every morning โ€” [body]

I try as much as I can to grow each of my 4 dimensions: body, mind, heart, and spirit.

      • Well, we are all flawed. No onesโ€™s perfect, remember? Otherwise, whatโ€™s the purpose of growing?

Your list is great too! Whatโ€™s important is that we are doing something everyday to grow. I think in John C. Maxwellโ€™s 15 Laws of Growth, it is called INTENTIONALITY.

  4. Great post! โ™ฅ๏ธ Donโ€™t forget too our egos can blind our judgement of situations and intentions of others. Not everyone mean to spite us, they may be genuinely trying to help. I read this on a my horoscope yesterday about Mercury Retrograde and itโ€™s effects on communication or rather itโ€™s ability to cause misunderstandings. Loads of love!

  5. As usual a great post, Iโ€™m definitely working to better my confidence and working to handle my social anxiety in a manageable way, another thing I want to work on is getting closer to god, I hate feeling distant from such an important person! I mentioned you in my most recent blog post because you were my inspiration for it! โœจ๐Ÿ’› I hope you enjoy it(:

    • Hey, those are great things to be working on! I probably need to be working on my social anxiety too. I’ve gotten to where I physically don’t care to fool with a lot of people anymore. I’m a people’s person and then again I’m not hahaha. I just really like my space! Thanks for reading and commenting! I’m gonna have to head back over to your blog and read your post!! That is so sweet!! Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I love #14! Sometimes I forget just how much I can control a situation or how I feel simply by how I react. I’m working on being more intentional about everything in my life and trying to remember that life doesn’t just happen to me.

  7. Hi! Thanks for following my blog!
I talk to God and ask Him for help with my weaknesses.
I read the Bible and uplifting blogs to give me a more positive thought process.
I try to decide to keep my mouth shut if I don’t have anything good to say.
    I’m trying to declutter.
I’ve been dieting for better health and to lose weight.
I got a Fitbit for Christmas to help me be more aware of how much exercise I am or am not getting.
Some days I do well, other days not so much. But the important thing is to keep on getting up and trying all over again!
Wishing you success with your list! ๐Ÿ™‚
